BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

Okay just updated to the latest patch, and contrary to what people have been saying my performance has deteriorated, a LOT. It's gone from perfectly smooth to utterly unplayable. It feels like im chugging along at 15/20 FPS!

Anyone else? any fixes? Or any way to roll back the patch?

Depends on how the sniper plays. I run and gun with the sniper because I like the challenge. I get one shot before I'm dead so it has to be perfect.
When a run and gun sniper comes top in the map, you can be sure that his lead would have been 10 fold had he been using an automatic weapon.


I mostly play the same style in BC2 but am not nearly as good as I am in MW and MW2.... yet.
 
Anyone with performance problems post patch might want to try deleting your BFBC2beta folder from My Documents (it only stores game settings and such, so you will just need to redo those next time you start).

I was getting really horrible framerate lag after the patch, after a couple of mins of perfectly ok gameplay the fps would start to bomb to extremely low numbers for no good reason, doing the above fixed that completely. Might work so worth a try ;)

But yeah with the much smoother performance / better hit reg now I can't wait for retail it's going to be awesome.
 
Does anyone else just get to a point and the game just starts looping sound, everyone stops but you can keep moving then you either get booted to desktop or out of the server? This is the only thing stopping me playing and this happened pre and post patch. Very annoying if it will continue to happen.

I dont get the CTD well very very rarely but I do get the connection lost quite abit think I had it about 5 times last night.

thats why BETA is always a Joy.... DICE havn't let us down todate.... hell they even gave us a 1.5 patch (1.5Gb or sumin?) for bf2 4 years after release!

I love DICE simple as least they do taken some of what the community (PC) ask for....

:p IW :p <-------------------------------- Might use that as my sig haha! I recon every1 who has had it with IW and wants something new ie BC2 put this in their sig ;)

One could say that if they had been doing their job from the beginning, there wouldn't have been need of a 1.5GB patch 4 years after release.

Not saying they're not trying with BC2, just saying that their track record is hardly perfect.
 
Question i hope gets answer :) iv unlocked quite a lot in the beta, if i use same account and solider name will i get to keep all my unlocks/rank etc?

haha Love it Thorpy... so subtle but so hard hitting :D

I was lucky Trip i missed all the buggy parts, i came into it at 1.41. I know they've got a track record of buggy games but at the end of the day they work to get them right. To me it’s an absolute testament to their company that after 4 years of BF2 and them un-likely to sell many more copies they still give the community something back…. look at IW they took took took from the PC community then **** on us from a great height. DICE still care about the BF community...... as the executive producer Gordan Van Dyke or Ben cousin's Said (cant remember which one) and I quote… “ We want to give the PC community something back, after all Battlefield was founded on the PC so its important we give them something to play“ This was said long B4 IW announced that they were kicking us square in the nuts! Also on that interview he did say “ Battlefield bad company 2 is NOT BATTLEFIELD 3 “……… woohoo

DICE has my respect!

I have been bagging a few names so they are mine to keep. Well, just to stop others taking them.

Not that I am likely to want to change my BF name as it has always been the same, but just for those times when I may want to do a little admin spying on some regular troops like I do in BF2. ;)

it is amazing what some regular players think they can get away with on my clans server when they think you are someone else!

I also bagged my same name with my clan tags attached to the front.
