Charlie Demerjian:
Nvidia on the other hand did not do their homework at all. In its usual 'bull in a china shop' way, SemiAccurate was told several times that the officially blessed Nvidia solution to the problem was engineering by screaming at people. Needless to say, while cathartic, it does not change chip design or the laws of physics. It doesn't make you friends either.
So Charlie is saying Fermi is broke and is unfixable, Fermi is expected to be launched at the end of March, I suggest we wait until the 31st March and see if Charlie is telling porkies.
Use a standard font. Its not big and not clever

No way, I've been using this font on other forums for years now and I refuse to change my habits!
God help me I'm 80, I'll be a right cantankerous, stubborn old *******.
Hmm sounds familiar,

Lets not forget that the GTX280 had 256 cores yet it was released with 240 cores and at lower shader speeds than the chips that it replaced. All the guy is saying that it's the same story with Fermi and that it's even worse this time- which would hardly be a surprise as the 40nm process isn't great anyway.
Problem is i don't think ati will have to drop prices on their current cards because fermi is not going to be cheap and even at the prices they are now the ati cards may still represent the best value for money. I cannot remember a time when nvidia were so quiet about a product supposedly this near to launch and that alone is enough to worry me.
