Your in game characters...male or female?

More often than not when playing RPG games, you need to create a character, the first choice is normally male or female? The question is, which do you choose.

Now, I always go female...even though I am in fact...in real life, a male.

My friend called me on this, said I was sad, gay, a loser...various insults which didn't bother me, I just listened to his BS and asked him this (paraphrased)...

"If you're playing in third person for anything from 10-100+ hours on an RPG would you rather be looking at a woman or guy running around?"

He couldn't answer...so what do you do?

Well if it's one of those completely open game i'll default to male, however it's an RPG where it's supposed to be a certain sex, but you have a choice, i'll go with whatever is intended by the developers.
 
should be "your" in...oh wait :D

Depends tbh..sometimes female, sometimes male..love interests for male PCs are so dull in RPGs :p

I went for male in ME just because he was on the box.
 
I normally make male characters but I must admit on Wow I paid to have the sex change on my druid - purely for some variety after many years looking at the same toon.

It felt good.

Depends.

Anyone remember Quake 2 days when someone would pick a female char you didn't have...so it would just show the male grunt model but it would have all the female sounds.

Must admit untill recently i ALLWays went for males (wow, oblivion, fallout 3 etc) (mostly as i didnt want fat sweaty nerds chatting me up online) ..but recently i started playing oblivion + fallout 3 as female and i find it more entertaining! 1: They Look cooler than a Large sweaty guy running around the wasteland/Oblivion/Boren tundra etc.. . 2: ...okay ive over shot my self here.. there isnt a 2..but i must admit i would def be a lot mroe open to female chars (offline)

EDIT: OH 2: they have Boooooooooobies :D
 
all female chars in wow!

they look better animations are better the only good male race in wow is undead male!
 
Actually I usually choose a female character on guitar hero. The number of guys who either ridicule or 'chat me up' online assuming that I am a woman (I don't attach my mic when playing guitar hero) is ridiculous!
 
It varies, but I tend to default to female characters for some reason (I am male in case you couldn't guess) and have to consciously decide to play a male character. I have thought about this on occasions and come to the conclusion it is just one of those things :D.

I like to think it shows I am comfortable with my sexuality and don't need to show how much of a man I am, but it could be I am gay :confused:. I do agree with your point, its good to have something nice to look at if you are playing for many hours :D.
