Ive killed this haven't I.....

I know what you did, you left it overclocked, you need to set the clocks to default before you take it out of the pc and put it in the oven

if you left it overclocked you should have compensated and put the oven to gas mark 3

... now you know for next time

I'm pretty certain you're meant to wrap the entire card in foil, with only the gpu exposed.

Hazardous alternative to reballing, but certainly easier.

Heheh, interesting pics.

What is the 'oven method' used for anyway? I've seen it mentioned before but no idea what it is.

Its used to re-solder cracked joints, what i thought had happened when put the waterblock on.

Seems i got the temp or time wrong though, the same method worked on an older card but not this one, lesson learnt and hopefully others will be a bit more careful if they're doing the same.

Im not dwelling on it really, it was a second hand card and i got it reasonably cheap so ive not lost much, and ive got an awesome coaster!

:D
