[Eastenders spoiler(?)]: Archies killer is...

I hate soaps, turn off the telly when Eastenders and what not are on.

But I might tune in tonight because I'm interested in the production and technical side of broadcasting a soap "live". I'll be jeering them to **** something up!

The Bill did it before and got it spot on.

If this really is live then that's incredible. I don't mean to sound arrogant but for those of you who don't know how Eastenders is shot at a professional level.....

You wouldn't have a clue how much work has gone into this.

Cameras set up everywhere with focus already set
Vision mixer has to switch between Cameras perfectly
No lighting
No sound dubbing = booms have to be positioned perfectly
Actors get one chance and one chance only
Gaffer tape must be everywhere for positioning of the actors.

Technically this is absolutely incredible.

There is an interview with the Director here:

Didn't think much to the episode to be honest, Eastenders has being poor for years.

Had a feeling it would be Stacey, as I'd heard rumors that Bradley would be killed off, would make sense to bump them both off, great shame as I did like the two characters.

Well that was interesting. Fell apart a little in the last couple of minutes I thought...

Have to wonder how many cameras the BBC invested in this because scenes were all over the place with no time for moving stuff about.

Thought that was a pretty well done episode! A couple of issues; Jack, Ronnie and Roxie. The roof scene was iffy due to health and safety reasons, but overall it was a good live episode I thought (not seen the other soap/drama live episodes).

I said it would revolve around Stacey and Bradley, with Stacey doing the handy work.
