Thoughts on Citroen DS3...

This is the Italian police force we're talking about here...

Funny this thread should pop up.

A good friend of mine is looking at getting one, a DStyle in black... brand new... on finance :(

I've told him that if he is dead-set on getting a brand new car, push for as many DSport extras as possible. Should help soften the blow.

I'm liking the look of them from the photos i've seen and the advert, been tempted to pop along to my local dealer for a test drive..

C5 is a fairly upmarket car though, so it should be really - it's the smaller cars which are usually shocking :p

Hardly, it's no more upmarket than a Mondeo or an Insignia. If you are used to cars like the C2 or a Clio I suppose it might seem it though. You should have seen the old C5, it seemed 'ok' to start with when it was new, give it 12-18 months though and it rattled like a bag of nails, almost every quadrant of the car had some sort of a rattle, just those annoying little ones, some persistent and some intermittent. And the rear suspension sphears used to make a clonking noise when going over a bump or around a corner, this was an acknowledged thing by Citroen but they couldn't really do much about it, I've seen solutions as creative as stuffing the underside of the back seats with as much sound proofing as would fit under them when closed.

While I wouldn't call the new car upmarket exactly, it's a world appart from the old one.

I'm going to get one in a couple of years when they are a bit cheaper. I think this car could turn Citroen around.

Citroen DS3 Racing Announced

- 197 bhp / 203 lbft
- 4 pot brakes
- Bucket seats
- Looks revolting so hopefully depreciates so I can buy one soon

Also the power is reached by a remap so the 154bhp one should be easily tweaked!

I think I would puke a little bit in my mouth every time I got in the DS3-R and looked at the orange dash.

Bet it's a fun little bugger to drive though.
