the local place ive used for fitting is a kumho dealer, they cannot get hold of ku31s because "9 out of 10 people just want the cheapest budget tyres"

the next place wont answer the phone. when you ring back the line just goes dead, they hang up

third place cannot balance wheels for toffee. they have two in stock though

forth place (now about 30 miles away) do not have my kumhos in stock, do have vredestein sportrac 3 though. £46 each fitted

so ive got to travel 30 odd miles to get the wrong tyres or i could just wait till next weekend and they can supply KU31s for £41 each

yup, i know i should do that. theyre a good place when they have the bits you want in stock and ive never had an issue with then marking alloys, slow punctures or imbalanced wheels

most local tyre fitters baulk at the suggestion of supplying expensive performance tyres.

Should have seen the looks i got when i asked about the vredsteins lol.

Dont you live in the lakes?

Drive to camskill and have them supply+fit?

im from essex. ended up going to elite in rainham (tried to avoid there after working on a friend's car who had just had new boots from them only to find the wheel nuts were hand tight and the locking nuts finger tight)

anyway, vredestein sportrac 3s on the front now and theyve been balanced perfectly (not checked if the nuts were done up properly though)

On a similar topic, kumhos in general are quite hard to get hold of. Have been desperately trying to get hold of a kh15 to match, yet there are none anywhere in my size. I've been told it's because there was a strike in the factory a while back which has cocked up supplies, Have noticed the same for many other sizes/types of kumho.

Funny, I ordered 4 from camskill this week without a hitch. :p

I thought this thread was about £41 Kumhos?!

heh, before i had the facilities to fit my own tyres i bought a pair of kumhos from camskill and took them to a local tyre place, where the fitters had a good laugh at my expense as i'd paid nearly £40 per tyre and they sell them for £25 a corner themselves. I couldn't get them to understand that they sold the bargain bucket "affordable" end of the range and i'd gone for something half decent.

Nothing wrong with KU31's - not far off FK452's in my experience. Hopefully they'll be some tyre review in a magazine soon so we can all officially like them too ;)

I'll give my tuppence of recommendation for Camskill too.

I had 4 tyres for a landrover discovery (cooper discoverer st's 235/70R16) came to a grand total of £319.00 inc vat + delivery (took about 3 days to arrive). Cost another 40 quid for fitting/valve/balance at a local place.
If they have what you want, camskill are the cheapest place I've found to buy online, so far.
