Just completed the alien campaign and it was definately waaaaay too short. The levels didnt even flow together either, just seemed like it was cobbled together compared to the marine and predator levels. Quite annoying tbh as its taken me like 2 hours for the alien campaign, if that lol

Without me reading through this whole thread does anyone else get a black screen after the rebelion video on startup?
This is weird and seriously annoying.
Game had been playing fine for me with no crashes or bugs as yet. Played a wee bit this morning and then went out for the afternoon.
Came back this evening and fired it up. Clicked on "Continue" and the game loaded up, went through the loading screen / tips and hints screen and then the game began properly. Within a split second of me seeing the game screen it had CTD'd. Gave some obscure Appcrash error.
That was strange?......thought I. So I ran the game again. Did exactly the same thing. 4 times.
So I'm thinking "What the...?" and decide rather than click on "Continue" to start the Factory level again from scratch in case it is a glitch. Nope - CTD'd again. Ok, so this is getting annoying now. Tried starting game again and this time I picked Marine ( had been playing Predator ) to begin a completely new campaign.
CTD'd after the cut scene as soon as the level started. Really annoyed. Played perfectly yesterday with no hassles at all but today it looks like the game just CBA.
Ah well, back to Bioshock 2 for a bit.

I had a similar issue, played the first time for an hour with the DX11 launcher, then I quit the game, if i run the same launcher again now, as soon as the loading screen starts to type out the hints, it freezes... only way I have found around this is to run the DX9 launcher

I had a similar issue, played the first time for an hour with the DX11 launcher, then I quit the game, if i run the same launcher again now, as soon as the loading screen starts to type out the hints, it freezes... only way I have found around this is to run the DX9 launcher
have you tried checking the game cache then re installing if neccessary that worked for me on my first run

I'm trying to run it via the DX 9 launcher but no dice.
Played through the Pred campaign, was a mixed bag. It ended just as i really started getting into it and enjoying it. Still, will most likely go back and play through on nightmare very soon.
MP wise Infestation is lots of fun so far, i like how the game rapidly changes from a bunch of marines comfortably camping around, to one or two marines desperately trying to survive. Pred hunt is good with the right amount of people, survivor is good when you dont get the person spraying bullets everywhere and taking down his own team, then having the host rage quit.
Lots of people disconnecting though, i was in a Species TDM earlier where my three alien teammates left within the first minute or two, leaving me in an unfair fight against four marines and preds.

It's a bit old school but it's fun IMO. The 5-10 freezes which I get sometime are not fun, however. Try verifying your steam files as I found one corrupted file and Steam re-patched it - seemed to help a little but there's a memory leak with this game methinks.Been playing this for a bit, so far a disappointment. It's just a linear arcade game

Infestation and Predator Hunt are amazing MP modes, haven't had this much fun on MP in...well, ever!

Depends on what mode and what species you play as. If you get a good group together it can be lots of fun

Well my steam went **** up, i was the host...sorry about that!
There's an OcUK AVP group on steam, haven't checked ito ut since release but it should still be there.
I've only played Predator Hunt so far but it's fantastic.
