Is anyone working within this industry as a psychologist? Anyone an educational psychologist? :)

Apparently the entry requirements for the funded postgraduate course is a 2.1 and a years experiment as a teaching assistant. If you are successful you get a bursary of £14,900 for the first year then for the 2nd and 3rd year you get given a job (that you get paid for). After the third you are committed to work for the local authority for 2 years. No course fees and the qualification is a doctorate in educational psychology.

Thanks in advance. :)

Going to be brutally honest, here.

You're going to need;
a first class degree / a post grad award (MSc)
2 or more years work experience in schools / local authority / assistant psych
voluntary experience (eg childline)

then you will get to an interview (hopefully), and there will be 200 people fighting for fifteen positions. That's not to say you won't get it, but just letting you know how tough it is.

Sidewinder no flame here mate. You really got 143,991 posts?

If so, thats the most I seen anyone have on a forum.

He won them.

Sidewinder, my ex did this, however got shot down with a 2:1 at every hurdle, to get anywhere she ended up having to do a self funded MSc.

It isn't the most I don't think. I won them at a charity auction. I really have around 12k. :)

Thanks for the advice. Seems like it will be the best idea, ho hum.

Sorry to make you :( mate, but it's honestly the truth. If she's serious about it, there are a number of things that she could do which would help. I see people try for it every year. It's not something that people do straight after their degree.
