good job this game only cost me £17.99 as it took me less that 3 and a half hours to finish the full game on medium , not like me to rush through a game like this tbh although i did enjoy the pred part of the game
 
Extremely disappointed by this game but to be honest I should have expected this lacklustre attempt from Sega by now.

I don't believe this game though. I started playing max settings. Loaded the game up a few times since and each time I've had to lower the AF to get smooth gameplay. I'm down to 4xAF at the mo. lol. This thing sucks harder than my Mums Electrolux.

game been out two days :)

seriously its been two days yet everyone wants the game fixed to there individual machine :D

mw2 hasnt been fixed or a lot of games that are great in this time period.

cod 4 took at least three months for first few patches but people forget all this.

im sure people will expect games to be perfect before there even made soon :D

LOL made me chuckle it is true tho people expect it to run flawlessly first time altho the developers have to caters for 10's of thousands of different types of machine.

i'm lucky i've had zero problems since install

there seems to be a trend tho it don't seem to like n-vidia cards it even says that in the games read me there about 10 fixes for nvidia problems and about 2 for ati.

it's weird but peeps with AMD systems seem to be getting the least probs just look through peoples sigs who have probs
 
It's fine to fix bugs and stuff weeks/months down the line as the game is still playable.

AVP is not playable for many people because a) it doesn't work in dx10 b) it has massive framerate consistancy issues in dx9 c) not all settings are available when using the dx11 launcher on dx10 cards where as other people have them.

These aren't just bugs, these are things that should never have passed game testing to begin with.

well, i cant even get past the intro to see if it crashes in game. £20 quid for my 1st dx11 game that wont run in dx11.
dx9 will only run with vsync off and the tearing in avp is awful without it.
hell, the xbox 350 version looks better than avp on my pc as it stands.
and that just plain sucks tbh

tried older drivers that work for others, dx11 is upto date and it still responds the exact same way, back to desktop after intro.
i even tried playing a bit on dx9, then try to continue the game on dx11 mode but it is back to desktop yet again after loading

I was having problems too and I have a 5850 win 7 65bit. I kept trying different drivers, just installing over the old ones. But then I uninstalled the drivers and installed 9.12 and it worked. Today I uninstalled 9.12 and installed 10.2 and its still working. It could also be due to a dx update that MS released recently. Downloaded it from their site not through updating.

yeah but these probs are isolated mine is running fine why don't u start a thread saying if you own avp and have zero problems put +1 if you have problems put -1

We are only seeing the problems cause no one is bothering to report that their game is running flawlessly.
 
Working fine here in dx11 for me, not problems and runs smooth at max settings with 2xAA and 8xAF 1920x1080. Chugs a little if i use th AA to 4x. Spec in sig with Windows 7 64bit and Cats 10.2

Enjoying the game so far, just the marine campaign aint as scary as I hoped it would be
 
Hey guys, I ended up picking this up at the weekend hehe :) Got a few questions that some might be able to help with.

I am finding the predator a lot harder to use than it should be. What fire button does everyone have for the predator bound to?

at the moment I have it left as default, I cannot use mouse 3 to fire as that is my mouse wheel, so I end up zooming all the time. Using the "ALT" key isn't bad but is still a little awkward when fights get intense.

I take it the spear should only be used for close to mid range as I tried using it on top of roofs but it moves through the air so slow, the enemy has already gone and it dips too.

Even with the disc I have had times with my x-hair on the target and fired the disc but it has completely missed the target, even when they are not moving :( So annoying but I am wondering if this is down to lag or not.

When it comes to using the Alien, what does it mean when the x-hair on the screen turns black or when it turns a brighter white, I know this usualy means you can jump to the wall the x-hair is on but is there a difference between it going a darker black or a brighter white?

Does using focus mode with the alien give any advantage in fights? Does it have a purpose in multiplayer?

Finally can someone explain how the hand to hand combat works: For example,

I the enemy is performing a heavy attack but I unleash a light attack first does that interrupt their heavy attack?

Can only light attacks be blocked or do heavy attacks get blocked/reduce the damage taken.

Dear me you guys are fussy.

Got this at the weekend am i'm really enjoying it! Finished the Marine campaign yesterday - took me about 4-5 hours.

I've played all the AvP games and i think this is a great addition to the AvP series.

I've not had a single problem with this game, plays very well on my machine not a single frame rate drop.
 
Yup because you had no problems that means that everyone who is having problems is fussy.

Since installing the game I have had one crash which resulted in the pc rebooting and getting the windows unrecoverable error message.

Convinced this was the game that caused it as there was no over heating of components.

Touch wood ive not had any other problems. Loving the mulitplayer survivor mode tho.

Seriously though, the game has only been out for a couple of days! You can't expect Rebellion/SEGA or ANY Developer to bring out a game that runs flawlessly on all machines.

There are going to be problems, that's life - if it doesn't work for you, raise it with Rebellion/SEGA and play something else in till they fix it.

Just completed the single player campaign and altho it was too short I enjoyed it.

The DX11 graphics look really nice, and the game played smooth for me.

MP is good fun too (think I will spend many hours playing), but waiting for games is a bit of a pain. So overall for me its £17.99 well spent.
 
Read an interesting idea suggesting that missing menu options such as motion blur being due to running a pirate copy :mad:. Anyone here debunk that theory?

Same here, i've had zero probs and it runs sweet on my mediocre machine at 1920x1080 with the settings on high, and still using the ati 9.12 drivers.
