UFC 110

Very impressed with both Valasquez and Sitoropowahtever, I knew Cain was fast for a HW but he made Nog look like he was in slow motion, whether he has what it takes to take on Carwin or Lesnar I don't know, they would both want to take him down but it would sure be entertaining.

George just dominated Joe Stevenson, I thought he would on the ground but was suprised he did standing. Fair play to him, only bummer is BJ Penn is the champ and I don't see any LW right now who can touch him.

Bisping unfortunately is not blessed with KO power so is going to find it hard to beat the more skilled 185 pounders who have chins.

I wasn't that sure about Cain but wow, he looked awesome in there tonight. Really hope he can do the same to Lesnar if that fight happens.

Gutter for Bisping but it was a very, very close fight. His main problem is always going to be his lack of one hit finishing ability, most of the top guys all have a tool that can finish a fight in a second, he unfortunately doesn't.

Wanderlei is a legend so at least we get to see him in the Octagon again.

The thing that surprised me about the Bisping fight was how close the scores were at the end, there is no way it was that close. Bisping was useless against Silva who had the better of him in every round. So glad to see him back in the octagon, Bisping was never going to knock him out, he has no power in his hands and we know how much of a beating Silva can take without being knocked out.

silva nearly finished via choke at end of round 2, bisping saved by bell..

silva nearly ko'ed bisping at end of round 3, bisping saved by the bell..

bisping is an average fighter - he doesnt excel at anything apart from being average across the board..so hes not 1 dimensional by any means but he isnt particularly good at any one thing either...if he had a ko punch like Hardy, he might be dangerous, or even useful. as it is he is nothing more than a 2nd or third rate fighter in the UFC.

Hes not top drawer; he did a lot of good politically for the UK MMA guys (along with Paul Taylor and Paul Kelly in the "early days"), and hes paved the way for the better, newer breed such as Hardy, Semtex, etc to come through. Hes not a top fighter at all; if he can get more power developed and learned to plant his feet and push his hips and shoulders through correctly, he might have had a chance, but i dont see it happening.

I think the Bisping fight was much closer than you guys are letting on. Lots of guy scored it round 1 Bisping, rounds 2-3 Wandy, some other guys scoring it Round 1-3 Wandy and 2 to Bisping. Definitely no arguement for round 3 being Wandy's though.

Bisping has good footwork and cuts angles very well, if he had some KO power, he would be a serious contender at 185 no doubt. As we saw last night if needed he can get the fight to the ground (albeit Wandy getting up rather fast afterwards) and counter punches very well. He is also very established on the ground. If by some miracle he did get some KO power and continued to counter punch effectively we could see him taking out some top tier guys.

To be fair, its difficult to tell exactly where Bispings level is at, he went from fighting B level guys straight top guys, he didn't really go through the middle of the pack so to speak. His record says he lost to Rashad, Hendo and now Wandy; thats nearly a whos who of MMA LHW and MW's. I'd like to see him fight somebody like Palhares or maybe Okami.

CroCop fight was a little hard to watch, clearly he didn't want to kill mr Perosh and felt really bad about cutting him so badly which he mentioned in an interview straight after the fight.

Bader impressed which i thought he would, a good test to see where he is in the LHW division as Jardine seems like a good 205 gatekeeper.

Cain looked impressive, seems to have improved his standup since the Kongo fight, he looked much crisper.

Joe Daddy vs George was a good fight, impressed with his control, but it was a terrible move from Joe in the first trying to throw him over the top of him, kind of set the tone for the fight.

Overall a good event for sure, one of the best recently.

at like 30 years old and having already trained with one of the biggest hitters in the game (rampage) i think its all too late for bisping.

he has brought some pr for brit fighters but lets not pretend that he was the first to break through...

for instance you have Mark Weir, who beat Frank Mir...(Brawl at the albert hall), then you have James Thompson from Pride who slugged it out with people like Don Frye, its just that bisping got a lot of exposure because of his TUF appearances...

Mark Wier never beat Frank Mir, different weight classes dude :)

It was "The Machine" Ian Freeman and if memory serves me right he lost his dad to cancer that day or the day before.

bisping seems to lack confidence...weird saying that as he comes across as very cocky but when you seem him fighting he rarely commits himself to a punch.
usually they are half hearted quick jabs...rarely does he throw launching himself through an opponent....he seems to have a fear of getting caught.

I was really impressed with Mr Popadopalous, I love watching the technical scrambles and people with really good guards always looking to submit off their back.

I was disappointed with big Nog, he didn't look great in the short time we saw him, but maybe he just looked bad next to Cain who was very fast and very crisp, it will be interesting to see who Cain fights next, I'd love to see him shove his fist down Mir's throat almost as much as I'd love to see Brock ground and pound him for 25 minutes!

He loves the fanny taps but doesn't do any damage whatsoever.

His gameplan is to go for a knockout with a knee. Even though he has no knock out power, a knee is seriously going to hurt no matter who you are.

Unfortunately for Nog it seems his chin of god is starting to give up. He is still a beast of a fighter, but without that I think he may well have issues as he has ALWAYS taken a lot of shots hence the state of his face.

:( Nog is a hero and I don't want to see him ruin an awesome career by carrying on too long if he keeps losing like this.

His chin is an issue, but I think the main reason Pride fighters are not performing any where near as well in the cage as they did in the ring is quite simple.

Steroid testing is much more stringent in the UFC, it was non existent in Pride (which is why, amongst other things Pride was the best)

Also, they are all winding up towards the end of their fight careers. They all have been in so many wars, the body can only take so much.

Finally managed to watch this last night. Overall, an ok set of fights.
Wasn't surprised with the Bisping result. I scored it a round 1 win to Bisping with his take downs, round 2 & 3 to Silva. He really does miss some Semtex power.

The Joe Daddy vs George was a good fight. Sotiropolous is great, he's fun to watch on the ground and he did pretty well with his stand up too. I laughed at the end when Joe ran round with his arm in the air as some sort of indication that the thought he'd won. No chance!

Shame Crocop has retired his left leg, those kicks used to be awesome. An expected result that will hopefully boost Crocop, but he does look like he is slowly down considerably.
