I'm going New York in september

I'm very excited this group my support worker as told me about a Five day Holiday to New York is coming up in September. I may go as I've only left the country once.

I have plenty of time to save for a good HD Camcorder. Where's the best place to go for a big selection of Camcorders? There's lots of places out there that sell them I know. I wouldn't know where to go to get a good deal.

I'd like to be able to recorded in 1080p and be able to take great stills.

I have no idea at what price quality HD camcorders start at. Let's say I had £400 to spend.

The best option if you can find one at your price level is a Canon HV20 or HV30. Its touted as being the best non Pro Cam out there, and has been for a few years now.

Canon 7D...best of both worlds but rather out of your budget. Sell something and buy one. Awesome video and probably even better stills. NYC is full of photographers. I felt rather humble with my D90 walking in central park surrounded by D700s and 5Ds!

Canon HF S200, keep an eye on amazon and it was as low as £620, if not than Canon HF20 or Panasonic SD200, bear in mind all of these models will be replaced in the next 3 - 4 months
