Currently using SCART cables for my old Sky Box ( it's ancient, not even a Sky+ box, way before that - old Amstrad one!! ).

The current deal Sky are offering for the HD box was pretty good so I signed up tonight online and the engineer fella is coming on Friday afternoon to fit and set it all up. My Hitachi 32" LD6600B has an HDMI connector so would it be an idea for me to buy an HDMI cable before the engineer comes on Friday so he can set it up using that instead of SCARTS?. Or does the Sky+ HD box installation include an HDMI cable?.

Apologies if its a daft question, I'm really not well up on all this stuff as you can most probably tell.

Excellent. Cheers for that.

What deal did you go for?. Get any additional packages with it?. We just went for the HD pack at the extra £10 per month but didn't add any additional channels. Want to see how it goes first and might think about that later. Cost as an existing customer was £60 installation fee with the free box and our monthly fee has jumped slightly from £23 to £29.

How long was the guy there for setting it all up for you?.

If you already have sky+ its a 5 min job really, just a straight swap.

I pay £5 a month extra since getting HD and paid £30 for installation.

edit: Just noticed you use an OLDDDD sky box lol, in that case it won't be a straight swap...

I got Free install, Free Sky+ HD Box. Went for the Super Telly HD Pack with movies, HD and 6 mix, costs £49 a month, 12 month contract, 25 MS Vouchers. The only special deal I got really was Free Install + Box. It took around 20 minuits to install a new dish + re-route cable + Configure the device.

Cool. optitech, were you an existing customer when you ordered?. How did you manage to get a free install?.

@e36Adz - Yeah, really old Sky box here plus only one LNB on my dish so I am guessing it wont be a straight swap over. :p

You guys missed the deal on last week from Sky lol
ALL channels (inc. ESPN) (half price) + HD Pack (free) + HD+ Box (free) + Installation (free) + £25 M&S vouchers + £100 Cashback
All this for less than £20/month. Sucks for those paying £40-70 haha

Damn. Where was that deal and was it only for new customers?. I have been Googling online for weeks for deals for existing customers and I never came across that one you mentioned??!!!. :(

Deal isn't going on anymore. It was meant for Sky's "Friends and Family" staff discount that staff give out to...well their friends and family. However, the codes were put on HUKD and loads of people signed up. The codes were quickly made invalid by Sky obviously due to the amount of people signing up who shouldn't have.

Ah well, a pity we missed that but to be honest, a free HD box and having to pay just £60 for the install isn't too shabby a deal is it?. Quite happy paying that. :D
