Currently i am running 6gb xms3 7-7-7-20 but i was thinking of getting another 6, i am just trying to figure out if this is a wise choice and if i will see any benefits from it.

Also i know this has been asked before but it has always been mixed opinions, some say it will help and others say no.

I also doubt you'll see much benefit whilst gaming etc. I think 6GB should probably be fine for you for the time being.

The response to this question is always the same.

You haven't told us what you use the system for, so we don't know if you ever want more than 6gb, so we can't answer.

12gb tends to make overclocking considerably more difficult than 6gb, making it a stupid thing to do if you don't actually use more than 6gb of ram.

What operating system are you using ? 64bit
And if use is gaming then even 64bit OS won't help that much for as long as games are still built to support 32bit OSes where single application is limited to 2GB of memory. (not to forget ports from consoles wich have ridiculously small memories)

2GB or 4Gb would be much enough - for over 12GB that too much and no need do that for any gaming,etc.. it make no difference - 4GB still enough for gaming,etc.. some using 8GB to run.

That you are incapable of imagining a use for 12gb of ram is your failing. Its curious that you're proud of yourself for this. it's ridiculous to state something is useless because you know too little to conceive of a use for it.
