Confirmed NVIDIA : Fermi Launch 26th March 2010

Seems after todays uproar they've caved in and suddenly apologised and annouced the launch date.

We want to apologize for the confusion around our most recent GF100 update. To clarify, the launch date for GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 is March 26, 2010. This date also coincides with the GeForce LAN event NVIDIA is hosting at PAX 2010. Hope you can attend the show.

This better be happening i have almost caved in and got a 5870 but i use my current GTX for F@h and would like a new Direct X 11 part or 2 so i can enjoy my games as well as fold.

That isn't the launch date, it's just an unveiling date, expect the actual paper launch date a week or 2 after and general availability about 2 days before Intel buys out nVidia and chops the company up into tiny little pieces.

You won't be able to buy one on March 26th, or 27th, or any time after that for a few weeks/months.

At least not at RRP. By the time you can get one ATI will have the hype train in full effect for the 6800s.

All the nvidia launches i can remember 7800GTX onwards there has always been stock available to buy on release day, even if its not much. I was one of the lucky ones who picked up an 8800GT on launch day back when ocuk was in fenton
