Another evening, another pilgrimage to the OcUK fountain of knowledge...

I'm really enjoying my chillout music at the moment, particularly ambient stuff and also female vocal chillout. Think along the lines of some Groove Armada stuff, some bits of Dido/Imogen Heap, the more relaxed bits of Staind, so pretty much most things that fall into "chillout" as a category.

But...my musical horizons are limited! And so I come seeking the band knowledge that lurks within these virtual walls, to see what you guys recommend in this genre, which I will promptly explore thanks to the wonders of Spotify!

Cheers in advance for any suggestions.

The Album Leaf?
Close, but not quite. Maybe it's the lack of vocals? Going to check out a few more of their tracks though to be sure, thanks.

Do you like this?
...
This however is my all time favourite chillout song
Enjoyed both of those, thanks. I'll have a listen to a bit more along those lines.

If you like Imogen Heap, check out Kate Havnevik.
Again, only had a quick listen so far, but sounds good, thanks :).

Cheers to all you guys :)

This Mortal Coil

I class it as 'sleep music', it's a bit sombre, but relaxing

It'll End In Tears is their best album

You need Sigur Ros in your life

Try Saeglopur firstly, then listen to Takk (album) and go from there, it's probably their most accessible album for new listeners

And this one was made by someone on ocuk ;)

Wow, I wasn't expecting that! :) I actually uploaded a new song recently which is also pretty chillout:

(probably not exactly what the OP is after though!)

I'd definitely recommend you check out Portishead, Massive Attack and Zero 7.
