Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had any holiday recommendations for a couple?
First time we both will have been on holiday with each other and we are not sure where to start looking.

Looking to spend not much more than £400 per person, doesn't have to be abroad but it would be nice.
Places in Turkey look nice and are affordable, mostly looking at packages on Thomsons website.

She wants a beach, I just want things to do (any soft of activity, watersports whatever).

So, can anyone recommend a country (or county) to start looking for such a holiday?

Lanzarote / Gran Canaria for that sort of money...

Not too far, nice and warm, and most of all cheap.

Egypt is more £500 territory as it's a fair bit further to travel

You might be able to get an all inclusive holiday to Tunisia for that price, depending on when you are thinking of going?

Antalya in Turkey is really nice, the missus and myself went there last September for a week. The beach is really nice and there are lots to do in the day time and at night.

Do you happen to remember which hotel you stayed in?

think they have recent bad flooding. not sure how widespread it is or if it affects anything though. my parents went and they couldnt go anywhere (pyramids or anything) a few weeks ago. may all be sorted now mind

Yeah I think it must be... My brother went a last week (on a cruise) and saw the pyramids and other stuff.

We paid about £700 each all inclusive for a week in a 4* hotel in the middle of a multi-million pound marina on the red sea :D

Depending on how flexible you can be you can easily get a 5* HB/AI hotel (rated 3rd best in Hurghada apparently) for around £430. Bit over the OP's budget though I guess, especially as you will want to spend loads extra going on trips/diving.
