My sister can get a W7pro (32 or 64) upgrade for £40 as a teacher.

She currently has an AMD64, 2GB system running Windows XP.

Is it worth upgrading the OS to W7pro? or is it a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

I would personly upgrade to windows 7 , I'am thinking off doing the same for my Shuttle.

so yes I would think its worth it. btw can you put another 2 gb memory in for your sister.

a list of advantages of windows 7 over xp as an upgrade option on your sisters PC.

1) it looks nice

I think that about covers it...

You might find some programs are not supported, or even her printer, if you upgrade its a good idea to check her favorite programs and printer will work.. of and if she has a usb broadband thingie not all of those work on w7

Windows 7 is at last a good reason to finally let go of XP. It's easy to use and comes with a vast driver database. However, as edscdk say's it might be worth checking compatability first. There's no point in paing £40 for a new OS when you have to fork out for other things.

Personally I find windows 7 to be more stable, nicer looking and as a lot more features than XP, my netbook is an AMD 64 with 2gb of ram and it runs flawlessly.
