On monday my Father died of what is beleived to have been a heart attack just weeks after being given the all clear about his heard from his private doctor. He was only 44 years old and was a great man and very selfless man. He had his own business, regularly played charity concerts and was a volunteer community first responder (he left his phone at home and the call for him came through whilst he was out and i as at home :( ). R.I.P you great Father, man and friend.

Now because he has his own business and was an ICT guy all of his laptops, PCs and phones (yes he had many of each :p ) are password protected. This causes a problem because we can't get access to phone numbers of other friends that we do not have the numbers for or gain access to business information that we need to try and keep the business going. Is there anything that can be done so we can get to the information? Off the top of my head he has the following:
Apple Mac Pro
3x Apple Mac Books
Mini Mac
Iphone (Apple fan boy much?? :P)
Blackberry

I think that is everything.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this. RIP my great dad and friend, you will for ever be loved.

Google for a linux password reset cd, should work on the macs.

Sorry about your dad, i would be devastated.

With the computer stuff could you take the hard drives out and read them from another PC. If they are pretected at the BIOS maybe try removing the BIOS battery.

Can't really offer advice on retrieiving/breaking passwords but wanted to offer my condolonces. I'm dreading that day personally.

Really sorry to hear this. Hang in there, dude. :(

44 is a terribly young age for a man to die, especially if he has children. My father died when I was 16 years old (suicide). He was 41.

very sorry to hear of your loss my freind..especially being given all clear by the doctor..a very sad and young way to go ...

Thoughts go out to you and your family.

RIP :(

to get access to the macs.

iphone can't help you.

blackberry is it a private or work one ? if it is a work one they might be able to do password resets remotely. otherwise speak to the mobile carrier to see if they can do remote password resets.

sorry to hear about your loss :(

If the blackberry is on a BES then yes you can reset the password...if it isnt then theres no way you can break it unless you know the code...the mobile network wont be able to help lol...only thing you could do is wipe the handset but then you lose ALL the information on it.

RIP for your loss mate:(.

thank you all so much for your kind words, condolonces and advice, it means a lot that people who don't even know me care :)
Thanks again.
RIP Dad.
