Critique my CV please!

Just had a quick look -

I think you need a short paragraph about yourself, as an introduction to sell yourself. Is the CV going to be used to apply for a job? If so, you need to direct the opening paragraph and link it to this.

I'd say you need more in the Activities/Interests section too, it's a good start but some more would help.

This CV is supporting an online application. So most of my details are on the application. I''ll put more in my interests.

Thanks for looking.

Did you work at Sainsbury's and Morrisons at the same time? If not, say when.

When you do GCSE's I usually state English, Maths and Science, some do IT too. The omission of your English grade and the lack of any other information leads me to believe your written English isn't great.

Also in the OSs, get rid of DOS (if you can use *nix you have the same skills) and get rid of Groovy (if you can do Grails, you can do Groovy)

I just followed a template for a skills based CV.

I got an A in English Lang and a B in English Lit.

Fair enough about the OSs.

Isn't that what a covering letter / application form are for?

The way I've been told by a few different career advisors now is to have a covering letter stating why you think you're suited to the job, and have a small paragraph (3 lines at most) with a summary of yourself and what you're looking for.

I tend not to trust anyone with 'advisor' in their name - paranoia I know.
I'd love to hear what employers actually think.

Although I suppose I do have a slightly different CV style (academic).
