Just got one of these this week after a w8 of about 7 weeks for it to arrive.

the thing is so quiet i sometimes cant believe its running, the screen is absolutely beautiful, colors are so vivid, it plays wow and fm2010 great (basically the only 2 games i play)

the only thing i find is the top gets a bit toasty.

oh and i bought a razer deathadder 3500dpi mouse which comes with mac drivers, one word of warning the drivers don't like the 64 bit kernel mode , work fine in 32.

cant think of anything else really , Hardly had my PC on at all since Ive had this thing

may post pics later if anyone wants to see it

had you used a mac before you purchased?

ive been down the mac store today having a play and I agree, the 27 looks stunning. No other word for it. The screen is almost worth the price alone. How they fit an entire PC in there is a mystery.

One thing I didn't like was the magic(?) mouse. Talk about uncomfortable. The sales guy was telling me how it came free etc like I should have been impressed. I said does it come wired, and whilst he didn't openly show his disgust, I could almost feel it in the air. Apparently not is the answer to that question. Batteries. pffft. The concept is amazing however.

I am stuck right now. I dont have any experience with OSX, I just think I will love it.

that said, do I really want to splash out on a mini that I may love and want moar power asap. But then I could buy an imac and hate osx and have spent 3x what i would have spent on a mini.

Also... to put a 27 on the desk would mean relegating my 24 dell to a secondary monitor, which upsets me as it cost me a small fortune only a year ago.

Apple have a gap as wide as the grand canyon when it comes to well spec'd, monitor-less workstations.

Sorry, bit of a thread hijack there!

Mega money though.

A lot of people want iMac level specs (and cost) and the ability to use their own monitor, which I suppose is understandable. I don't suppose Apple will ever cater for these, because they never have before.

That said the current Minis are cracking little machines and more than powerful enough for most people's needs. Much quicker than you'd expect imo.

nope never used a mac before mate, but its so easy to pick up , i agree about the magic mouse looks nice but mines in the draw. I absolutely love it , im even forgetting the 1400 odd quid it cost me , well worth it IMHO, i dont think you'll regret it tbh.

Im also using a wired apple keyboard. The sound is great as well considering the speakers are built in.

Magic mouse is godawful! I personally hate how it feels. But that awesome program that lets you customise the multi touch aspect of it is really nice.

Check to see if you have a yellowed screen, a lot of the first batches of the new imacs have this problem.

Not sure if they have fixed it, I have a jan10 21.5" with slight yellowing that I am going to call apple about soon, after I get an external drive to do a back up.

Absolutely spot on. I got a mini to use with my bigscreen TV in the lounge as a media player. However, it's such a quick machine I'm very tempted to upgrade it to a main machine in the house. Being able to slap any monitor/keyboard+mouse combo you like with it is a massive plus.
