Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

Possibly mouse's DPI is too low?

Razer Deathadder 1800dpi, so definitely not. It's weird though, a few guys above say they get the same thing and then there's that hardforum link about the battlefield games 'aiming grid', I'd imagine that if this was an issue with the way the game was made and the cursor aiming system is then it'd affect everyone, yet I showed the issue to a mate the other day and he swears that he doesn't get the same...?

i have MX518 which lets me change DPI on the fly so i have from 1200 - 400 in 5 increments and turn it down to 400 DPI when sniping and it seems way more precise.

Well the Deathadder can't do it on the fly, but it can be changed in the software, I haven't actually fiddled with this yet. I guess that's where I'll look next.

I notice the snap aiming too. It's in quite a lot of games. Crysis and Stalker off the top of my head has a grid-like aim, particularly on snipers.

Ive noticed this "grid aiming", never really bothered me as im on the move all the time so a slight touch of the strafe to correct is all part and parcel of my play style.

I mainly find it cause I've always had heavy mice on high sensitivity, so when i move the mouse it always doesn't move at first then quickly jumps a bit before stopping and moves in little spurts because of the way it "sticks" because of the weight.

But mostly I run and gun so it's not an issue but when trying to snipe a tiny head at distance it is.

If you pick it up just enough that it still works you'll notice the little wobbles are much finer and don't conform to the grid.

The "grid aiming" is the games way of handling sensitivity. If you want your sensitivity higher then the game has to "skip" a pixel to make it faster. There is no way to fully eliminate it, or your movement would be far too slow.

However, if you have a high sensitivity mouse then you should turn your mouse up as high as it will go and your in game sensitivity as low as you can get it while maintaining a normal turn speed (your mouse cursor will be incredibly sensitive in menus, but movement will still be normal).

In BF2 at extreme ranges this made the difference between your sight completely skipping over the target to smoothly placing it over his face.

Will give this a try tonight too but to be honest I only really noticed it badly for the first time last night. They changed something in the game, as beforehand my sniping was fine and then last night it was just like the others are saying with snap to grid movement. Obviously most noticeable with the long/extreme range sniping where the target is that much smaller and you are also trying to allow for bullet drop.

On a side note, is the default scope for the SV98 the 12x as it doesn't seem any different whether I leave it on default or 12x?

Any further on the Steam 4-pack?

Really prefer this on Steam since it looks like it will be a habit...

ps3ud0

News is there is not going to be one. :(

I had pre-ordered on Play but was getting really peeved with the EA site for the download so cancelled it, gave my key to a clan member and pre-ordered on Steam.

Yeah it was £8 more but so much simpler and easier. :)
