Criteria - Black and Red Heatspreaders

Don't laugh

Looking for some DDR2 - 4gb total.

Any make/speed ( min 6400 + ) / timings etc.

The criteria is the colour of the heatspeaders !

I'm looking for Black and Red, for a new build.

LoL mate, I am in the exact same predicament myself, I've been trying to decide for the last week which set to go for between the 1866MHz GT's or the 2000MHz Tridents.

The Tridents are cheaper and faster, but I am still leaning more towards the Dominators as they have more red in them!!

A lot of folk would think we were nuts basing out purchases on the color schemes alone!

If you went for the Dominator you would see more red when it's installed. At least that's the way it would seem, due the the tips of the heatspreaders being red.

There is another set you could try, can't rember the name or make though. Think it's Muskin, i'll go check now.

...would it not be cheaper to buy say a corsair ram cooler and mod it to colours your after ?

This is the main reason I'm going for the GT's, I can get the Trident kit for £154, but the GT's are £100 more from the place I am getting them from..

could you not just buy any old ram that meets your needs and get some after market heat spreaders in the colour of your choosing?

would certainly be cheaper, that said the dominator ram is very very good

Removing the factory heat spreaders is risky due to potentially tearing an IC off the PCB. Painting would be a better idea. Also, removing voids the warranty.

Corsair Custom Fins for those that are interested and want even more red.

didnt mean remove the original spreaders just get some of teh clip on ones for around 10 quid off ebay just to make it look pwetty

those dominator ones look nice tho

Damnit Yellowbeard, I wish you had posted this last week mate, I just sold a set of normal Dominators so I could get some red and black modules...

These would have saved me so much hassle and money!
