Hi,

So I just this minute bought a Corsair TX650. Fingers cross. Read up and thought my existing well respected seasonic s12 500w would cope.

Anyone have these problems.

1) Had W7 x64 RC1, E6550, Abit Infinity, 4gb DDR2, 8800 utlra, 1 x 200gb Spinpoint and 500w PSU.
2) 8800 utlra blew playing BF BC2. So replaced with XFX 5850 XXX. Pretty power friendly i thought.
3) Slow posting (as reported here) but else fine.
4) Bought W7, i5 750, Gigabyte P55M-UD2, Corair XMS3 1600, Corsiar H50

Built yesterday. Have spent 10 hours trying to get ATI drivers to work. Missed dinner and breakfast. Smoked a pack and half of cigs.

Tried 9.12, 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3. Used driver cleaner, turned off aero and upls. Removed 2nd fan and DVD drive. Two clean installs of W7. But it blue screens at various stages but mainly log in. Got in a few times but windows was slow and I got the driver restarted pop up.

Resetting to std SVGA driver and 1600x1200 I had no problems.

Then I noticed my CPU was 2000 and Ram at 1333. I knew about 1600mhz RAM issue. So changes CPU multipler to get 3200 and used XMP profile to get 1600. Turbo off. EIST on.

With 10.3 already installed Windows logged in! But BF BC2 crashing during login. Windows seems stable thou. temps good. I detuned CPU to 2700. Not tried BF yet as I rushed to try to meet OCers next day delivery on new PSU.

Not tried detuning 5850 XXX yet cuz I could not get into windows.

I am going to gutted if its not the PSU....

Try sticking to 10.2..

OK so tried.

was 10.3, prime32 for a few minutes. Got 3.8ghz with turbo. No issues. in windows. BF BC2 crashing bsod.

10.2, removed turbo as dont want high OC until I know hw OK. BF BC2 got driver failed pop up. reboot. started prime32 straight way driver failed popped up!

temp all good. I hope the £100 spent on PSU helps.

Hi,

well the new Corsair TX650 did jack. Still BSOD in windows just by moving a IE windows around screen!

So
reinstalled 10.2. Fail.
Force PCI to 100 Fail.
Set BIOS to fail safe. Old problem that BSOD at login now.
Set BIOS to optimised. Old problem that BSOD at login now.
Changed mem from 1333 to 1600. I can know get into windows.

Still trying. Here. Posting while windows working.

(Note this 5850 worked for two weeks in old rig.)

now tried.

5850 XXX at defaults using overdrive 725/1000.

Cleared bios. Strangely see i5 750 as 2ghz. BSOD as login.
Set CPU to 2.66. Ram 1333. BSOD as login.
Set CPU to 3.2 RAM 1600 and turbo off. EIST on. Can login. Prime32 caused ATI driver fail pop up.

Somethings very wrong. Starting to regret switch back to ATI.

Hardware failures happen with all components, regardless of the brand.

Can you reproduce the problem by stressing the GPU with Furmark?

What exactly does the BSOD say? Is it consistently the same?

If it is then take a picture of it and post it here.

Have you tried running memtest on your memory?

Also what voltages do you have your ram set too, might be worthwhile manually putting it at 1.65v.

atipmdag.sys i think when BSOD. I also get the "your driver stopped responding" in w7.

Just went back to VGA driver. noticed. GPUZ went to 13A after 5mins. CPU showing 0% in GPUz due to driver but I know it running at 100%.

Using profile1 says it at 1.65. Will digg deeper.

I may have cracked it!

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?p=438930

Although I have been follow this thread for a few days the line calibration default stated is wrong. I "disabled". I also have turbo disabled for now.

Can run BF BC2 well to options now have a can not connect to EA servers. Prime32 ran for 5 minutes.

Fingers crossed. If it works i'll post a new topic on here to help others.

Looks like OCers got another £100 (new PSU) out of me.
