Hi,
What shound I do? I can't decide:eek: My 40gb "fat" ps3 has twice stopped reading disks. First time Sony replaired it for free, second time Sony want £131 for a refurbished PS3. I don't really want a refurbished one. So I thought I would buy a new PlayStation 3 Slim Console (250GB Model) for my birthday next week.

My mum thinks I'm nuts buying another PS3. She says I should not give Sony any more money.

I have about 15 ps3 games,3 controllers and a remote. I don't really want to be without the ps3. I can't decide.

What should I do?

If you can afford it, I'd probably fork out for a new slim if I was in your position. My PS3 has been faultless (touch wood!), but I know that if it did stuff up I'd replace it with another one. If you do it now whilst it's still working ok you'll be able to swap over all your data from one to the other.

Well seeing as you have skipped over my idea. Id say you have made your mind up and will be buying a slim. Enjoy

I bought another one for the lounge just for streaming + bluray as my 60gig used to be in there but i hated playing games on the big tv.

Now they both get used a fair bit. The slim is deffinately the better choice of the two as long as you don't use PS2 games.

Find out how much it costs to get it repaired by a third party (or attempt fixing it yourself? (there are guides)) Then work out if you will make more selling it as broken on ebay or selling it as working. Sell it and buy a Slim.
