anyone using 8gb ram on a 955/965 phenomII

I don't have exact figures but, all the people I see with those CPUs and 4 modules are having a very hard doing any OCing at all, esp on the memory side. It's just too much load on the IMC.

Thanx for the heads up i might pick up another set and give it a go i have a very good mobo and my IMC and overclocks seem very stable i'll prob get some when the prices drop a bit and see what it can do :D

would taking the heatspreader off that ram serriously affect the temps?

also do you know when amd are gonna sort out these BEMP profiles for overdrive?

I have no idea what removing the heat spreader would do other than to void the warranty and most likely rip a few ICs off the PCB. And, no clue on AMD Overdrive. I have not heard a clear answer on that for months.

PMSL sorry i didn't mean heatspreader i ment the fins on the top i'm not taking them off but just wondered how much they actually affect temp.

i know this whole BEMP thing is rather annoying i'm gonna write them a e-mail later and try find out whats going on

I used 8GB when I had my Phenom 965 and it did around 3.75ghz fully stable, I never tested with 4GB so can't comment if it hindered the overclock.
