Was just going to make a heads-up about this myself!

It's out tomorrow, most places are pre-order for 26th. Cheapest one is £12.99 :) Seriously looking forward to it, really one of the most enjoyable city building/rts hybrids I have played, can really tell the team put their heart into instead of trying to milk something. Plweasse don't pirate it :)

Any impressions so far?

it's a useful little expansion pack.

there's added scenarios which i haven't tried yet, purely & simply because i jumped into a big continuous game to see what gameplay tweaks have been made.

there are new buildings obviously, the Bailiwick is well useful, it's an "accounting/command" building which cuts maintenence costs & brings the control of all buildings in a settlement under one roof, courtesy of the reeves book, which is kind of a ledger, it's actually a really bloody useful building. build it as soon as possible. ;)

the large tradesmans cog is worth it's weight in gold. it has six holds & 2 "buffing" sockets, is as fast as the large oriental cargo ship, and packs one hell of a punch in it's own right, it's almost as powerful as the large oriental warship.

the new palace looks great, there are other new building like cemetaries etc. there are also gameplay tweaks like removing the need for weapons when building settlement defences etc.

all in all it's worth getting if your into Anno 1404. glad i got it. :D

I picked up Anno 1404 for the princely sum of £4.98 with a voucher. Never felt such joy as to buy a pc game with spare 50p's from my pocket. I installed it and it is pretty good. Graphics are top notch for an RTS and there is a lot of micromanagement. Haven't got my hands on any weapons yet so not sure what combat is like.

Got the expansion last night and really impressed so far. Using the henchman to sabotage enemy settlements is a lot of fun and there are a bunch of new and varied scenarios which is much better than a campaign imo.

Keep in mind the game is mostly about city building and trading etc. The military aspect is rather basic. Don't be expecting an AOE3 style thing in that regard.
