How to pronounce id

eye-dee (id)
lie-nucks (linux)
ay (like hay) - suss (asus)

I don't care if they're wrong, I would never use them in real conversation :D

that's how I read them

I swear in a trailer for one of their games, it said something like "I.D software presents" from a narrator. Surely a narrator for their trailer wouldn't have said it wrong? I could be wrong though, this was a long time ago and I can't even remember what game the trailer was for. :p

Watch the UK MD (or something similar) of Toyota in an interview about the recalls.

Teerrrrta. I drive a Teerrrrta. My family all drive Teerrrtas.

That was the bloke pretty much in charge of Toyota UK, so you can't trust anyone to be saying things properly :p

(Though this was more an accent thing but the point is similar :p)

It doesn't make any difference how many times you prove it, in three pages time people will still be arguing about which one's right. Goldfish, the lot of 'em.

Strange that officially it's id but whenever I hear it it is pronounced as eye-dee

Personally i think id sounds strange and always say/read it like I.D. (eye-dee)

id sounds better, but that's only because it's how i interpreted it the fist time i saw it

for some reason I thought ubisoft was U.B.I. soft, and now saying youbeesoft sounds really wrong so I can relate

'id' only sounds weird cos it's not a word you come across very often, unless you're a psychology student.

I'd seen it in an 80's game for the C64 called Psi warrior, you had enemies called psi's and ids.

Eye dee, always see it pronounced like that in any film etc...

If someone said id as in did I wouldn't know what they mean.
