Got my powercolour 5970 2 days ago :)

It's not performing very well to be honest at least i don't think it is would like some clarification from other 5970 users please

i ran the dirt 2 benchmark in what i think is dx11 mode, ultra settings with 4x msaa @ 1920x1080

min fps=20.17
avg fps=24.92

i also ran the heaven benchmark

do these results seem right to you guys?

my spec is in my sig, you think the psu could be the issue?

run it at 1690 x 1050 and on dx10 mode

if your average fps is arround 32 then i would say something is wrong as i get 30 ish fps average on my GTX 285 :P

Make sure that 'Disable Catalyst AI' is NOT checked in the Catalyst Control Centre. Otherwise you will be only using 1 gpu core instead of 2.

i average about 70fps will most things on full, with 2xAA. it seems with me if i up AA to 4x it massively effects fps. then again, i run it in eyefinity...

just tried dirt 2 bench again with catalyst ai set to advanced and there's been some improvement

4x msaa ultra settings @ 1920x1080

avg fps= 52
min fps= 42.5

@Badas i'm presuming you meant unigine?

i ran it at max settings in dx10 @1680x1050 and got 52.8fps avg which still seems kinda low

@guadizba i'm not getting an option for either windowed or fullscreen where would i change it?

Not wishing to but in with above ^^ but I thought to enable both gpu's (had a quick read of the thread) you were supposed to leave it on advanced. That is unless the guidelines are different for the 5970 v the 4870X2. I am currently using a 4870X2.

Its meant to be on standard for multi GPU & it has always been so.

Well, I have just learned something there. I really didn't know that. The fps change will be monstrous!! :D I thought it was very good anyway! :)

just oc'd my cpu to 3.6ghz and my dirt 2 results have changed to:

avg: 61 fps
min: 52.1 fps

ah i had the same problem.

the trick is to go max resolution of your monitor.. wait a bit, move about a bit.. if its still slowy or jerky try change the resolution.... but when the option to accept the new settings comes up.. choose no.
because sometimes even though you go fullscreen windows may think you're still not because your fooling with something else other than dirt2 / behind it.

also turn v-sync on for smoothnes, but your framerate would only equal the frequency of your monitor (e.g ~ 60fps for 60hz monitor)
