Went out today in the rain and when pulling off a roundabout the back end stepped out on me, I caught it but it tank slapped me and snapped back in the other direction and ended with me mounting the kerb and smashing me alloy
I accept I was maybe pulling off the roundabout slightly on the fast side, but I was still only doing about 25mph. I dont know whether there was something on the road or not, I didnt look, but one thing I can tell you is that the Dunlp Sports I have on the front didnt understeer a bit before the crappy tyres the dealer fitted on the back went flying. Needless to say the backs now have Dunlop Sports on them and I have one brand new alloy courtesy of Arnold Clarks (£170).
Whilst I accept it was partly my fault for having a slight lead foot, I wasnt speeding. I know some of you will sit going "So whats the point of this post?", well, the main thing I want to get across is that you shouldnt use crap tyres, as you dont need to be going 150mph with your hair on fire for them to catch you out.
The roundabout, notice how its not even that sharp a turn off
