Either buy one or the other. If you want to try and haggle to MS on the phone and persuade them to send you a disc to use your current product key then fair do's, otherwise I would stick with 7, or buy the OEM versions of either XP or Vista.

What sort of problems are you having while in your games?

Right.. then maybe you should post what game your playing. What specifications you are running games on. I highly doubt it is the operating systems fault so changing operating systems won't help.

What software do you have running on that system? Do a screenshot of what software you have installed from add remove programs and post it please.

All games w@w, mw2, bioshock 1&2, avp3. only games that work are games that are NOT on steam ie, mass effect 2 (maxed out 1080p all highest) and the same on RE5 (works perfect!)

Have you got all of the windows 7 updates, and updates/patches for your games?

Yes all updates for games because steam updates games for you auto

Have you noticed what your memory usage levels are while in your games, im thinking possible memory leak while in game.

on most games it seems to be 1-1 and a half gb, but i did notice my cpu was at 100% while playing bioshock 2. Only background programs at the time were steam and ccc.
