In an ideal world... What is your next car?

I keep saying I want an Evo when I hit 25 (October this year) but realistically, that's not going to happen.

However much I'd like one I'll probably just stick with the Rover for the next few years. Had it 3 years now and even though I'm driving about in the red 420 (completely standard, around 170bhp) at the moment, still enjoy it. Looking forward to getting the green one back on the road later this year.

Probably end up chucking a few more £££ at it and aiming for somewhere in the region of 300bhp. I really don't know for sure.

E46 M3, Evo 8 or Impreza STi of some description.

Looking to change end of the year, Impreza looking most likely with the budget/running costs. Would like a hawkeye, and actually like the Spec D varient.

Evo 8 (300 or 320) or M3 if I can find one at the price I'm willing to pay and I'll just stomach the running costs :)

GKD Legend 6 (Using my E36 328i as a donor)

its got different tyres !

Are these any good? Air suspension?

Not really sure - I just love the look of them and understand that they are very, very comfy cars. A C6 HDI would be perfect for my long term plans (big car, long journeys).

As for the Elise - I always liked them, and again love the look of the S2. S2 111S would be a perfect weekend car.

As for the 318 and M3, I intend to keep both forever :). The 318 is a great little track car and taking everything I throw at it in its stride, the M3 is probably the oddball in my choices in that it has no purpose but I love it - it's as far I want to go into terms of silly-car ownership, but has been my dream car for yonks.

Another 900 turbo but the original design rather than the softened GM version i have presently. (even though i like my car)

At the minute, i am thinking about an early mk1 1.6 mx5, as they seem reasonably cheap for me to insure, and are meant to be good fun to drive

It really depends. In an "ideal" world I'll be able to stick with my 205 for a year and a half longer, save up some dough and treat myself to an E34 M5 in Daytona Violet as soon as I've completed my apprenticeship (with the view of driving it up to Crewe for my graduation ceremony :)).

They aren't expensive (You'll struggle to spend much more than £5,000 on one), nor are they particularly quick or cheap to run (I've heard some real horror stories about 3.8s!) but I do really want one especially in Daytona Violet (In fact, I wouldn't compromise at all on the colour), if anything as a reward for sticking with my apprenticeship by allowing myself to buy a no-compromise example of a "dream" car of mine.

Getting a M5 really does depend on me kicking my habit of changing cars every 6 months. If I REALLY feel like I have to change the 205 sooner than that I'll probably end up with a e34 535i Sport or 525i/530i V8 in an "interesting" colour (Avus Blue, Techno Violet or Daytona Violet).

I honestly don't know what I'd want next... not much floats my boat for the cash!

Maybe a MK5 GTI Golf, modified a bit of course... or a bit of cheap fun with a Fiesta ST modded a little bit too... Who knows.

Not just yet, depends on how a few things go and what i want my priorities to be.

Handling wise the VX is nearly done but it's still away at the minute.

Seems a shame to sell so soon after doing all that work. Sell it to me as soon as I can get insured on a highly modified supercharged car. ;)

6 GT3 is an exceptional buy at the moment, can't see them dropping below where they are now. Get a good one, with good history and miles and it will protect your money very well, arguably better than most anything out there at the moment.

Indeed. That involves parting with the VX, which I'm not keen at all on and somewhat of a change in lifestyle as I don't get to drive the VX enough as it is. :(
