According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, a moving mass should create another field, called gravitomagnetic field, besides its static gravitational field. This field has now been measured for the first time and to the scientists' astonishment, it proved to be no less than one hundred million trillion times larger than Einstein's General Relativity predicts.

This gravitomagnetic field is similar to the magnetic field produced by a moving electric charge (hence the name "gravitomagnetic" analogous to "electromagnetic"). For example, the electric charges moving in a coil produce a magnetic field - such a coil behaves like a magnet. Similarly, the gravitomagnetic field can be produced to be a mass moving in a circle. What the electric charge is for electromagnetism, mass is for gravitation theory (the general theory of relativity).

A spinning top weights more than the same top standing still. However, according to
Einstein's theory, the difference is negligible. It should be so small that we shouldn't even be capable of measuring it. But now scientists from the European Space Agancy, Martin Tajmar, Clovis de Matos and their colleagues, have actually measured it. At first they couldn't believe the result.

"We ran more than 250 experiments, improved the facility over 3 years and discussed the validity of the results for 8 months before making this announcement. Now we are confident about the measurement," says Tajmar. They hope other physicists will now conduct their own versions of the experiment so they could be absolutely certain that they have really measured the gravitomagnetic field and not something else. This may be the first empiric clue for how to merge together quantum mechanics and general theory of relativity in a single unified theory.

"If confirmed, this would be a major breakthrough," says Tajmar, "it opens up a new means of investigating general relativity and its consequences in the quantum world."

This is could be huge if it checks out.

This would seem to coincide with what is know as torsion field physics or Hyperdimensional physics.

Apart from rewriting the physics books & revolutionizing our understanding of the universe, this could potentially open up the doors for energy applications & advanced propulsion.

This actually tells us something about the Cern's LHC and other facilities. Either they are hiding something from us or plainly haven't noticed (which I highly doubt).

If this ring has an average radius of 4 centimeters then at 6500 RPM the average linear velocity would be about 27 m/s. This experiment shows an effect of 0.0001 G's.

Now let's look at the LHC where mass is spinning around near the speed of light being 300 000 000 m/s. If we assume linearity this should now give an effect of 1111 G's.

Is science being suppressed again? I lost count on how many times that has happened already. Just show the public boring figures and tell them "we need more money" and keep the wheel perpetuate. Perpetual motion right in front of your eyes

was going to put in a reply about how quantum mechanics can never be married to 'normal physics' due to entities not even existing or existing in 2 places at once,,, but why bother ;)

Well if you think the ESA are wrong, let them know, i'm sure they'll be more then happy to discuss your theory of why there wrong.

One guy does an experiment and gets a result. This seems to contradict what's happening elsewhere, like the LHC. You have a choice of conclusions:

1) Something weird's happening. We need to do lots and lots and lots more experimentation to figure out what the hell's going on.

2) CONSPIRACIEZ! WE'RE BEING LIED TO! SUPRESSION!

Guess which conclusion's rational.

Ninja post edit.

What is happening in the LHC that contradicts what they are saying?

Its not one guy:confused: its a team of scientists.

It will need verification and peer review first, but it sounds interesting. When I've got time I'll read the paper itself.

I'm not sure about any conspiracy to suppress science though. They just were not ready to share their findings until now. It could also be an anomaly.

It's the LHC and the particles being fired near the speed of light generating huge amounts of g that seems to be being kept "quiet"
