I want to convert MKV to AVI

How is this done? Preferably a free version

- And preferably in a Mac

Avidemux should do it, it works on mac too.

There's mkv2vob although not sure if its ported to Mac, gives you the options of converting to AVI IIRC.

Handbrake converts it to m4p. I did try this and the quality is good and it turned a 4.4gb MKV into a 700mb file which was handy, but my missus's DVD player I know for a fact plays AVI hence wanting it in that
