NHS Dental registration - quick question

Decay wise they are in 95% or more cases, the NHS dental budget would be slashed if people actually cared and tooth responsibility for their own mouths.
Gum disease is different, but again resources could be piled into education and it would help dramatically there also.

I'll agree with that, the NHS also promotes practises that actually contribute to dental problems such as fluoridation.

the socialist health care system in the UK removes you from the register after something like 12 or 18 months of not turning up to that particular dentist.

You then have to re-apply and wait 36, 48, 60 months before getting back onto a National Health Socialist Dental Registry.

I love the UK :p...

Utter garbage, get your bloody facts right.

Its not utter garbage, i forgot to mention i live in the worst part of the country for NHS dentistry, if you had read the rest of the thread instead of instantly posting your ignorant criticism you would have realised:

I am talking about my own personal experience of having to wait years before being accepted onto a NHS Dentist registry.. although I forgot its lottery depending on where you live, up here in Aberdeen, NHS dentists are few and far between, infact we have over a third of all people in the UK who are on waiting national dentist waiting lists in the Grampian area, it is a chronic problem, so people like me are left to wait over 2 years before even getting near an NHS dentist.

Maybe not so difficult for you to find an NHS dentist, its very hard up here - i am speaking from personal experience.

EDIT: newer article about NHS Grampian's terrible record at dentistry, from Jan 2010... things still haven't changed as per the above article: http://times.cluster.newsint.co.uk/tol/news/uk/scotland/article6975517.ece

So im afraid to say it is you who needs to get your facts right before you post Mr. Halfmad, you may not have any issues with dentistry down wherever you live in Englandshire but up here in Grampian if you are not already on an NHS dental register it takes you 12, 24, 36, 38 sometimes 60 months to get onto one. it took me about 40 months waiting before i finally got onto an NHS dental practice.

Firstly I don't live in England, secondly you refered to the UK NHS dental system in your criticism, not the specific area where you lived. Anyone can then post later on backing up an earlier post. I'll be honest I rarely read full threads on OCUK as people tend to defend any sweeping generalisation when they post it, rather than waiting to do so later.

Again, get your facts right before making sweeping generalisations. I can move dentist today if I wanted to, there are no waiting lists where I live although that's probably as people are too busy stabbing each other to worry about brushing their teeth.

There's a hint in there somewhere about where I live :p

I was commenting from personal experience, it is not a sweeping generalisation in my opinion it was my experience - up here National Health Socialism shafts us at every opportunity.

After a post or two I re-posted links to back up my claim that the NHS dentistry is terrible, especially in my area.
