**** Official J&W P45D2-ULTRA and -EXTREME Thread ****

Yup the board will have no problem doing that, make sure you have a decent aftermarket cooler and you should expect 3.3GHz+ with even the worst chips.

I had one of these, mine didn't look anything like the normal ones though, I couldn't find anything on Google or the website that looked close, it was a black PCB and a different heatsink.

Looked nicer imo, should have taken some pictures before I sold it.

I quite fancied a J&W JW-790GXT-Fusion but couldn't find one available to the UK at a reasonable price. I ended up ordering a Jetway HA08 Combo instead, which has pretty much the same features.

Nice to see manufacturers like J&W coming out with innovative features. When you want something a little out of the ordinary (like DDR2 and DDR3 on the same AM3 board) it seems you have to look to the Jetways and J&Ws of this world. The only alternative to those two I saw was a concept board from MSI that never made it to retail.

I have had mine installed for a day now and im very happy with it. Running at 3.4Ghz no problem. The temps are a little more than what i would like on the cpu but think i will order a better cooler

Well been using this board for nearly a week now and im ver impressed with it apart from i was running the Q6600 at 3.4Ghz. Turned the computer off then when i put it back on it had changed back to the standard clock of 2.4Ghz.

Apart from that all is good up to now.

Hi everybody,

First post here and I really hope I'm not too late to ask for some advice about this board..

Recently purchased it cheap coz I wanted to do ATI + Nvidia Physx on it. That went well but then I found out that I can't OC my quads on it. I also have a MSI P45neo3-FR and I could do 450 FSB on any cpu easily on that board.

400 with just by jumper overclocking.

Now with this board I've OC'd my E8400 to about 3.6ghz... But eversince slapping in a q9650 and then also trying out a Q8200 on it... It just wouldn't boot into Windows 7... Am I missing something here? Or does this board need some kind of special settings to OC a quad??

I could really use some help.

EDIT:

Forgot to add that I add just about enough vcore (1.25v) and then up the FSB at about 350, 360, 370, 380.. Absolutely nothing works with quads. Rest of the settings on the mobo are set to auto.. My ram can handle upto 1200.

How do you set raid up on this board?

In the BIOS go to Advanced and set SATA #1 to RAID then when you reboot there is a RAID screen where you can press CTRL + I to get into the setup menu where you can configure the array(s).

Page 25 of the manual.

This looks like an excellent board, and this is a budget one?

J&W must make really high quality boards for their premium range, I may consider one when I am in need of an upgrade.

Thank you for that. does anyone know of any updated bios?

What issues are you having? Whenever I've identified an issue and brought it to J&W's attention they have fixed it pretty darn rapidly and released a new BIOS. It seemed pretty stable to me though.

Sorry to bring this thread up again but i am having problems setting up raid 0. I have a seagate 7200.12 hdd with my OS on and i have 2 x 500gb samsung drives i am wanting to run in raid 0.

I set SATA #1 to RAID in the bios menu, configure the two drives as raid 0 then when i go to start windows it gets to the starting windows screen then restarts itself.

Any ideas?
