..another HD 5850 problem?? ....

I'm now onto my 3rd card - a Sapphire HD5850 1 GIG.

Today Ive encountered a couple of problems. When starting my PC my monitor detects No Signal. Both HD and VGA are undetected.

..after about 5 minutes of restarting the PC the problem seems to correct itself.

BTW ... windows loads Ok because i get the Windows music after about 20 seconds .. just a blank screen ....

Wrong display port? Have you tried different connections?

..well it's been working for the last 5 days , since i put the new card in.

In the end i had to change the HDMI connection in the back in the back of the card.

...would love to know why it suddenly decided to stop working ....

You didn't accidentally change which monitor/display was your default - from the sound of things you have multiple screens connected.

no i've only got a single display.... anyway i've just changed the HDMI cable and the HDMI connection in the back of the card and everything seems OK .....for now ..

Is it common for these 5850 to have problems because I haven't come across any massive issues while reading up on them?
