Finally got around to cable managing my rig that i built in december! Ive got the antec 900 and as most of you know, its not the best for cable management without breaking out the dremmel and holesaw! :D Main reason for doing this is i plan to OC my i5 this week, and the wire jungle wouldnt help my temps any!! This is my first attempt at cable management so any pointers or improvements are apreciated.

Pics where taken on my phone, so quality isnt the greatest! So, do you guys see anything i can improve on?

Cheers, Vice.

I guess you may want to swap the PSU for a modular one and is you are brave - Dremel/drill in some cable management holes.

Same as before, except you put something on them, i suggest you drill a few wholes for cable management and VIOLA!, then you will see an improvement

Looks a whole better mate. :)

Drilling some holes would really help improve things even more. Have a look on Youtube or something to see what others have been able to do. Could even try to route that CPU power connector underneath the motherboard or drill a whole for it. ;)

Agreed, all I see is a spiral wrapped mess.

You can go far more indepth than that and properly hide them out of the way.

You need to get them cables out of the way, I used to have the same case and I bought a cheap whole saw kit and cut three holes out of the motherboard tray to hide the cables behind, looked loads better.

Unfortunately I don't have the case any more or I would post some pictures.

Those cable tidies stand out more than the cables, you would have been better tie wrapping all the cables togeather.

Great improvement, I had the same issue as you and in the end just got another case as it was impossible to Cable manage a 900 properly.

cheers for the input guys.

I plan to cut holes/slots into the backplate but dont have the time this weekend. Also a bit worried incase i make an arse of it, dont have the funds to buy a new case lol. After having a browse on the net to see what other folk have done, it does seem to make a huge difference. Gonna have to steal my dads drill soon!

As long as you start with small holes and follow what other people have done and look where they place them. Good luck. :D

Its an improvement for sure, still lots of cable though.

I have that powersupply and the cables aren't a great length to be honest, if they were longer you could tuck the excess out the way but as they're short you've got to take quite a direct route

Cant believe how cramped & cheap those 900's look inside when compared to how much they cost back in the day.

Dont mean to sound awful fella, but its as bad now as it was before. You need to get some holes cut in the mobo tray and get ya cables behind it.

I'm not a fan either. In fact I think the spiral wrap looks terrible. :(

I personally would disconnect all cables and carefully plan out where they all need to go without actually plugging any of them in. See if you need extension cables, and order them if so.

See how many you can hide on the other side of the drive bays, and tie them down with cable ties. You should be able to make a much better job if you take your time and plan it out.

If you can't get them on the other side of the bays, then why don't you look at removing the HDD cages and tie the cables inside the bays to hide them. You could even think of moving your HDD up near to the top leaving a big space below to hide cables in.

You ideally want to get as many of the cables to the motherboard side of the case as possible as it will look much tidier.

Yes a modular PSU would help, but you still should get decent results with a little patience and effort. Its all about the planning.
