Jag XF Vs BMW F10

The XF suffered early with the 2.7D being replaced by the 3.0D which is a vastly better engine. If you compare a simliar spec'd 530i/d to a XF 3.0/D they are very simliar price wise.

I'd buy the Jag Xf over the current 5 every day of the week, the F10 I'll hold judgement on until I've driven it but from the looks department the Jag still wins in my book.

I was looking at an XF yesterday, and all I could find in the lower price range was the 2.7D. Was looking for the 3.0D.... then bleeding find out there's a high powered one also! :( Then the prices shot up!

This is one car where if I didnt have the 5.0 or high powered 3.0D, I'd feel cheated! (didnt know you couldnt get a S/C V8 unless you go for the XFR now?)

You can get the sv8 second hand for about 30-32k now which is a lotof car for the money. Having driven the 3.0d 3.0ds they are not slow with the DS bein a better drive than the 535d, if I could have justifie the price last august I'd have got one instead of the 335d I ended up buying.

Having driven both of the XF's i'd say there is little difference between the high power and the low power diesel (they are both the same engine, the cals are different on the gearbox, engine management and damping). They both feel very quick! I haven't driven the BMW so I can't comment on that!

As far as residuals go i can tell you my old boss traded his 58 2.7td XF in with 17k on it for a brand new 59 (at time) 3.0td XF with extra options...for an extra £500! Discount on the new one and huge demand for 2nd hand one meant he got crazy deal.
