A group of friends and I are planning a long weekend trip to Poland towards the end of August. We'd mainly be doing the tourist thing during the day and enjoying the night life in the evenings.

The plan was Warsaw however I have heard rumblings that Krakow is more 'interesting'.

Anyone been that could offer advice?

+1 Krakow,

Krakow itself has many interesting places to see.

It's no worth going anywhere else I think apart from some places close to Krakow, places such as "Wieliczka" Salt Mine and Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

Everyone that I know that actually went to Poland were always happy from their time spent there, and I have heard this many times now.

Girlfriend is Polish, we are going to her home town next week.

We will also be doing some touristy stuff which was going to be Warsaw and Krawow, but she said Warsaw is really ugly. So another vote for Krawow :]

Sod off Poland and go to Slovakia ;)

Both have their pluses and minuses. ;)

I would put them on par with each other.

Myself and 7 mates had a great time at Krokow. Try and visit the salt mines if you go. Well worth a visit and a break from all the drinking.
