Well I have just got back from sunny old Texas where I was visiting for a week so I could be best man at my brothers wedding.
Unfortunately my brother decided to meet a girl online who happened to come from a dry state (Athens), so with not much else to do or see the inlaws were kind enough to take me out on their range to play with some 'Texan' toys!!

Here are some shell casings I bought back as a souvenir for my 2 days of shooting. (Virtual cookie for anyone who can i.d them all)

Here are some of the weapons we were shooting:

This 9mm Glock along with the .45 Magnum were my favorite handguns to shoot:

9mm Glock

.45 Magnum (Kicks like a mule)

Then I had a play with a .38 Snub nose revolver!

This .22 was a joy to shoot

Now we moved onto the rifles, my favorite!

Me shooting what looks like a modified 'civilian' M16 Assault rifle (Gun experts please correct me if I'm wrong)
(I was deliberately shooting into the ground and not at the targets as the scope was not setup for the range and behind the targets was a field with their cow  :p )

Time now to get all 'Taliban' AK47 style!

I have no clue what Gun this is so if anyone knows please enlighten me, what I do know is that it was DEADLY accurate and my favorite one to shoot :D

Tony brings out the 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun :D

The straw that broke the Camels back (.22 Rifle finishing off what his bigger brother started!)

Again not sure what Rifle this is other than it's a .22 caliber, but according to Tony it's one of the most popular .22 rifles in America.

Another .22 rifle that I don't know what it is :(

Now some closeups of the poor targets!

Another where I get an itchy trigger finger! lol

Finally I can't go to Texas without blowing something up so Tony brings out the explosives!

Here is the high velocity 'bolt action' rifle that will detonate the explosives.
Practice shot

Time to blow something up!
First attempt (just missed :( )

Second attempt (Ca'BOOM :D )

Bit spoilt it with the video titles :P

Looks like a .223 (5.56) shell one in from the left on the front (M16?), the rest are pretty easy to list off the video titles :D

I take it the AK was 7.62mm? and not firing either 5.45 or 5.56 - so I guess that would be the rounds at the back unless any of those rifles were a 3030 or something.

EDIT: 7.62, 5.56, .38, .45, 9mm, .22 would be my guess for front row

Do you live in America or did you bring those casings back to the UK? How'd that get through customs

Haha.. I guessed all the shells before looking at the vids :p

7.62mm
5.56mm
9mm
.45cal
.38cal
.22cal

:p

BTW, I do believe it is illegal to carry even expended shells without a permit!

Looks good but crazy how much kit an American can have for personal use.

Also was it cold, whats with the bob cap.

That looks like awesome fun. Wish America wasn't so hard to get green cards for. Would love to work out there for 6-12months to see what it's like.

The rifle you can't ID looks like an m1 garand or carbine but hard to say for certain from the video... deff. something along that line tho (thats probably where some if not all the 7.62mm or similiar ~.30 cal shells are from).

EDIT: Looks like I'm wrong see post below

Sorry yeah it's a dry county (Athens) but luckily where we were staying (The Holiday Inn Express) was right across the road from AppleBee's which was one of the VERY few places that had a liquor license in Athens.
So as you can imagine I spent most nights in there drinking Coors 'light' chatting to all the local cowboys and gun nutts :p

I simply bought back the shells in my suitcase in a pair of my jeans pockets
Which was pretty ironic/crazy considering the Holiday Inn Express was steaming with ATF agents (20+) when we got there!!
Over the previous months some nutters had been going around Athens and surrounding county's and burning down churches  Luckily I had a watertight alibi being that I was thousands of miles away at the time of said crimes :p

Can't be. Texas has drive-through liquor stores and it is legal for passengers in your car to have open containers. He may have been in a dry county or town, though. Not many of those, and only 20 minutes away from one where you can drink.

I was going to say the times Ive been over there I have spent a large amount of time drunk :p
