I had to go see this for myself as my Gran is buried there and to check on whether her headstone had been damaged in the apparant mindless frenzy, thankfully it was okay. Almost every one of the headstones damaged was a Celtic Cross and it doesn't take Einstein to work out a link between that and the Old Firm game that was two days later. Utterly appalling and shameful.

It's disgusting. I have to agree with you about it being to do with the game, it's a bit too much of a coincidence.

Don't see why football needs to spill out like this. It's about time Celtic and Rangers put there differences aside.

Glad to hear your Gran headstone is still intact, not sure how I would feel if that had happened to the headstone of a relative.

It’s a despicable act committed by mindless morons who have no respect for the dead. This behaviour has no place in a civilised society.

I live just five minutes away from that cemetery. Terrible thing to happen, just ignorant little (enter profanity here). Sad thing is that I can hardly say I'm surprised, the surrounding areas are just full complete scumbags.

Did a 15 year stint as a gravedigger and that sort of thing would happen every so often. Vandalism was pretty rife, flowers/wreaths stolen from graves, even had the portacabin set alight in broad daylight. The only things the tossers wouldn't touch were excavated lairs awaiting interment.

Never a dull moment in a cemmy.

Glasgow doesn't represent itself very well tbh.

Oh Glasgow, it's lovely eh?

My friend got back to his house last night after spending the weekend away, his car had been broken in to and the radio had been nicked and a compressor. It's an L Reg Pug Estate. He called the coppers, they were going to come round today. Two hours after him returning home, there was an explosion and it turned out someone had petrol bombed his car!

His excess is also more than the car is worth, poor guy!

Many of my relatives are buried in a jewish cemetery and a while back loads of stones were pushed over, nazi swastikas daubed on others, used condoms left on burial plots and some had been defecated on. It was awful. Luckily the only damage suffered by one of ours was a smashed flower vase, but it was still a shock.

Something along those lines happened to Jewish graves around Southampton several years ago. Some people are just wrong on every conceivable level.
