Hey, think i know what im doing - just wondering how far you think this cpu will clock too? I have a Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 cpu fan.

Spec:

e2180
Gigabyte DS3R 2gb
OCZ PC2-6400

3.0GHz maybe? :)

Ok, thanks.

My CPU seems a little hot and its only @ 2GHz atm (no overclock).

They are 30c atm, is there something wrong? Was expecting temp to be a lot lower to say nothing much is happeneing and i have a good fan in there..

Got it to 2.9GHz and its at the same temp idle...

Dont wanna go higher as i dont know what to do with volts etc.

I have an E2160 on a DS3R with an Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 running at 3.2GHz.

So what voltage did you have? Or did you keep it the same? And did you overclock the ram too? I dont know how to do this.. ^_^

Don't worry about idle temps, they mean nothing, highly inaccurate and well not that important to behonest.

They only become accurate when underload, and thats when it matters the most.

The maximum would be 1mhz less than the point that it fried.

Helpful ? :D

The question depends on cooling really, an Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 will limit your clock.

Do you want a stable 24/7 clock, or literally how fast ?

From my experiences with the E2000 series they have been good clockers. I have had both a E2140 and a E2180 to 3.6Ghz on a Gigabyte P31 DS3L. The E2180 would have gone further but i only had the stock cooler at the time and it was getting rather toasty. It's still going strong in my sons pc at 3.6Ghz along with the P31 DS3L.
