Oh my...I think I have just seen a UFO (bad pics inc - 56k dont bother)

Just popped the memory card in to the Macbook to transfer the pictures. They aren't great...I wasn't exactly looking at getting focal length correct but the thing that stood out to me was how it banked as it went round in a big circle in over my local area. Now this wasn't low flying, and it didn't look or sound like a plane. Louder than a helicopter would be at this height. It had one flashing red light and one green light. Sounds normal, but still this thing turned like nothing I have ever seen.

I don't know what to make of it...there is probably an explanation for it and could be a chinook sized helicopter but it was loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. And looked odd! :rolleyes:

What strikes me is that you can't see where the lights are coming from, as in, if it was a jet/copter like you said you could have seen the outline of the aircraft, but in this you can't.

is it moving very fast? as you said there was one red and one green light but in the pictures it looked as if there were quite a few lights

how strange!

It did a few laps and then headed towards Leeds of all places... I only noticed something strange because it was a full moon so it gave me a bit of light to work with.

Yeah right nice gag.

But it is wierd...what about the pics that show a odd triangle shape...there may of been two or more aircraft, but this was not viewable from my window.

EDIT: well I just had a look at the meta and the camera and I had forgot to take of shutter release (was set to 5 secs yesterday and for these pics). Well, that explains some things with how the photos come out but still, strange triangle shape.

Given that it had one green and one red flashing light, the chances are it was some kind of experimental aircraft rather than anything extra-terrestrial. Or maybe a B2 bomber? Didn't another member see one in the UK recently?

It didn't sound like a jet engine...definitely propellor but a strange shape, at least in the naked eye. :confused:

EDIT: Bottom left pic is a pic which was taken as the craft was banking round. That would have been the longest distance from me to the craft, as it had gone over the M62 motorway. I had the radio on at the time and I was getting interference of some sort through it. It also appears to have wings?! :confused:

Witness Statement:I was returning home after just dropping my friend off at her house in another part of Shipley when I saw what I thought was a plane flying past. A second look made me realise it couldn’t be, so must be one of the police helicopters because it had a shortish beam. When I parked up in my drive and got out, I listened for the tell tale sound of the helicopter. It was completely silent, this yellowy, orange light moving slowly along the sky was totally silent. As I was watching it another light appeared over the houses to my left, and then another, and then another. Four in all!! I rang my friend on my mobile and told her to go outside and look towards my house and see if she said could see any lights. She said she could and that they were in formation. I told her I was going to get my camera but as I looked up the first light seemed to stop and get smaller and smaller until it disappeared. When the second light reached the same spot it too did the same and disappeared. The same happened with the other two lights. We were so excited and mesmerized by this strange sight and couldn’t explain what they were and to disappear was even more exciting.

The best way i could describe the way it moved was like a hovercraft on water, it seemed to bank round and take its time turning round but it must have been chaning height quite a lot...and having a butchers with adjusting shadows/lighting on aperture clearly shows some sort of physical craft/object.

It just looks like a single pair of lights, but you moved the camera while taking the photo so it looks like a line.
