Suggestions for a 3G phone for email and rare web browsing cheaper than n900?

Hi there folks,
I'm currently looking to replace my N95 8Gb with a simple 3G phone that has good email handling and web browsing capabilities.
Camera, mp3 player, touchscreen and other advances aren't on my radar at all.
As long as I can check my mail frequently while away from the PC and surf the net very occasionally when the need arises.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm also looking to buy direct without a SIM or contract as I am perfectly happy with my current contract.
Cheers all! :)

I'm open to offers at this moment in time, I've been looking at the N900 sim free but find that it offers far more than I would actually use, so up to £500 I suppose. :)

Well the cheapest 'all inclusive' phone at the minute i'd say is the HTC Tattoo, around £200 sim free unlocked. There's going to be a lot more in the next few months though, like the Acer e400 etc.

Aye, not sure where I was going with that, my mind was on the hockey final rather than the thread.
Cheaper than an n900 would be a better description. :)

Thanks for the HTC suggestions, will check them out now.

[edit]There you go, corrected the thread title to something more fitting, ok maybe not, looks like the original title sticks. [/edit]

HTC Tattoo, Magic and Hero.
T-mobile Pulse (I believe this is £150 payg, £10 topup, £15 unlock)
All 4 have basically the same processor and vary on the other hardware like screen size and type of touchscreen technology

the new nokia mail app is pretty good, the n95 still has some life left init.

Not this particular phone, it is physically beginning to get to the end of its life as I am beginning to have issues with the sliding mechanism, Also Vodafone have discontinued firmware support for it. :(

I'm liking the HTC range, nice one. :)

HTC Magic is pretty dire for web browsing IMO. The included browser is ropey at best and I personally do not get along with any of the 3rd party ones either.
