hey guys,
My insurance ran out on Sunday, and I was happy with the renewal price with my existing insurer (post office) until they saw that I was a student now and the renewal price doubled came out even higher than current rate)
Since then I've used all of the usual compare sites, then getting the cheapest and going direct to them. the cheapest so far is £675.55 (1x 157, 1-x63.12) through Fortis.
I'm 22, van is a 1.6 Skoda pickup (felicia fun), 2 years NCB, passed test in late 2007. I don't use the van as a van, just for personal social use. it is a 1999 car and a pretty rare one at that, people keep mentioning classic car insurance, what's the deal there? it guess it is a classic car in some form. I hardly do any miles, probs between 2-3k a year.
If I could scrape that down any more it help greatly.
Also, is there such a thing as local insurance brokers these days? or are you stuck with the big names? if so is it worth a try?
