If your Citroën vehicle is 4 years old or more, they will carry out your MOT for FREE!

All you need to do is book your test by completing the registration form with your chosen participating dealer. You will then receive an email with a personalised voucher. You MUST print off the voucher and take it to your chosen participating dealer in order to redeem your free MOT.

I had a free MOT from BMW, even included a free 120d for the day. No catch.

I had a F10 test-drive invite from the local dealership come today in the post, but somehow I can't see them MOT'ing my Saxo VTR for free :(.

Would be impressive if they did some of the repairs for free.
What yoooo sayin 'bout French cars?!

How did you manage that, I thought it was your Dad who owned the BMW?

Yep you're right, the 5 is his! Not sure how my name's on the invite really .

I'm half tempted to turn up and see what they do when they realise I'm 19..

Sure it wasnt an invite to the public dealer launch? :p

Already had the launch one a few weeks ago, again addressed to me .

Booked our Saxo workhorse in for one of these.

The catch is: if it fails, you need to have the work done at the Citroen dealership. They give you option of using genuine Citroen parts, or cheaper alternatives.

If you have the work done elsewhere, you get charged the £50 odd fee for the retest. I asked the bloke if there was anything stopping me fixing the car (if it failed) and getting it MOT'd elsewhere... he said you can't do that.

Don't get caught out if there's a possibility yours might fail. ;)

Oi Rotty :p

I booked the Missus car in for the free MOT, its due on 31st March so perfect timing - mind they have always offered half price MOT so have always used them. Have to say the dealers have been brilliant and generally as cheap as an independent whenever we have had stuff done, called them this week for tyres and i cant beat their price - most odd for a dealer !!

No you don't - there is absolutely no way they can enforce this.

You can do that - its your car.

Hmm, that's what he told me... he openly admitted it's a scheme for them to get some work in.

Never been in a position where my car has failed its MOT - good to know though. :p

They are quite entitled to charge for a re-test. They cannot stop you taking your car elsewhere - if its dangerous they can prevent you DRIVING it away but thats different.

course he did

he saw people like you comming. Who said garage employees tell the truth ? i had the bleedin service manager at the vauxhall dealer telling me that my VXR might as well not be under warranty as it was over 2 years old.

But the warranty is 3 years i replied, and he gave me some spiel about how certain stuff is only covered in the first year, and lots of things arent covered in the third year ... blah blah blah. All of it ****ing ******

Couple of phone calls to vauxhall later, i got my work done F.O.C. under warranty. It was arguments like this that put me off the vauxhall.

The car has just had a major service done by a well respected Pug/ Cit specialist, I'd be very surprised if it failed on anything. :)

And as Fox has just informed me, they can't stop me taking the car away. If I feel there's some 'fowl play' going on with the MOT, I'll be making a complaint to VOSA.
