£3742.27 worth of Electric bills in 9 months?

well think what has changed during those 2 months ? any new equipment? working hours? rates increased? if not.. well maybe they messed up somewhere..
The monthly rate is consitently around £370/month - if you look, at the start the bill was after 2 months (as I guess the first bill was too). Then it started to be 3 monthly.

As has been said, you need to tell us the usage and the rates and what you're running in there all day (air con? electric heating? electric ovens? massive fridges?) - the amounts alone aren't that useful.

To use that much power he must have about 10 hairdryers on 24/7.

£1000 a month on electricity is absolutely huge.

Electricity bill is ~£370 per month, which is ~£12.33 per day.

At 20p per KWh this is around 62 units per day.

Assuming the business is open seven days per week, for 10hrs per day, we come to an average electricity use of around 6.2KW.

This is entirely plausible for a fast food business, if all the appliances are electric. Ovens, friers, lighting, air conditioning (possibly) would all very realistically add up to this. If the ovens etc are gas-fired then it's a different story; obviously gas is a lot more efficient for any kind of heating purposes.

As a point of reference, if you look here you can see that around 6KW is typical for a small catering oven, with the hobs potentially adding another 6KW. This is before we add lights, aircon, kettles, microwave, friers, hot water etc.

OP: The only time I have lived in a house without parents was in my 2nd year at uni.
We paid £30 extra a week (between 3 of us) to include leccy, water, heating.

We gamed all day and night with lights and electricals left on all the time.

Your bill is absolutely enourmous, something isn't right!!!!

Same but with my dad and his love for the heating i think its been on since the end of october.. no prices like that though

It may sound daft but make sure they have the right information regarding your meter.

The electricity company had my meter registered as an old imperial one when in fact it was metric (or possibly the other way around) and as such were over billing me badly. I ended up with a refund for almost £2000 (built up over the course of 3 years or so).

They can identify model etc from the codes on the case.

i pay £50 a month for gas + elec

Just one person living by myself. This seems far too expensive...

i barely cook have the heating on twice a day for short period. washing machine rarely, i have two pcs running 24/7 but that is like 600watts i would say. that is it.
