Just to highlight the need for getting a test and or checking yourself:

Prostate cancer mortality by age

In 2007 there were 10,239 deaths in the UK from prostate cancer. 1-3 Prostate cancer accounts for around 13% of male deaths from cancer in the UK and is the second most common cause of cancer death in men, after lung cancer.

thanks for the heads up!

I had my first check on my 40th.. She asked if i had been checked before which i hadn't'. I'm all for preemptive screening.

You've gotta wonder whether you get gay blokes going to doctors every week "My boyfreind felt another lump, could you please shove your hand up my behind" :D

I've still got 20 odd years before I need to get checked.

Risk age is about 40 yes?
I think i'll wait until I have to to have a doctor stick his fingers in my arse.

The doctors probably don't mention the blood test because of how understaffed and underfunded the NHS is. Thats life, they're going to take the majorly quick option which costs the price of a rubber glove.
Blokes in lower social groups don't get the time off work to be wandering about the doctors for check ups. Blokes without a job don't deserve it, why should the money be wasted advertising to dossers?
