MUMs basement!
i recently bought the i7 920 only to find the new i7 930 to be out on sale???

did i make a mistake or have i just saved myself £20? ie. the i7 930 costs £20. more on overclockers.

If buying new now then one might aswell get the 930.

The 920 is fine though..No real difference over the 920 if you are overclocking.

If running at stock then the 930 is faster.

Not worth bothering with the 930 until they drop to 920 prices (Intel's RRP is the same for both chips) because the 22x multi does not seem to work with overclocking on any mobo. So, 920 D0's and 930's need to use the 21x or lower multis making them effectively the same thing. A 930 is only worth a slight premium if you do not overclock.

Yep, until someone brings out a motherboard that can overclock nicely with the higher multiplier you might as well stick with the 920.

A couple of things, the 920s that are about are old stock at the old dollar rate while the 930s are at the new dollar rate making them more expensive, also there probably are not any grey 930 out there yet so no cheap as chips oem stock yet.

surely the i7 930 is worth the xtra 20 quid. seroiusly i kinda regret not getting the 930..i bought the 920 just a week ago...it feels real Bad!!
